Learner Levels

We tailor your whole visit to suit the learning level of your group, from Early Years Foundation Stage to 16+.

This means that your time in the Science Centre will be arranged to prioritise the areas and activities that are most relevant to you, and you can select from over 100 curriculum-linked workshops to find one that is most suitable for your group's learner level and topic of interest.

We also offer bespoke Continued Professional Development (CPD) sessions for educators and engaging adult workshops - perfect for team building.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Early Years Foundation Stage groups and Reception classes will love exploring Life. Our special Playful Science workshops have been developed just for them, and the Young Explorers' Zone is the perfect place for them to learn and explore.

Primary Schools

For primaries, we offer workshops to cover all parts of the science curriculum at every stage from Reception to the top of KS2. Science Centre visits are tailored to suit your group, with plenty of opportunitites for practical, hands-on collaboration and experimentation in our interactive zones. Under-7's will enjoy a visit to our Young Explorers' Zone, and our Science Expainers will tailor the content in our Science Theatre shows to suit a younger audience.

Secondary Schools

In our workshops for secondary schools, we focus on providing specific expertise and equipment required to facilitate deep learning in areas teachers find most difficult to deliver. We'll arrange your Science Centre visit to prioritise the most relevant activities, and tailor Science Theatre content to suit an older audience.

16+

For groups at AS and A2 level or above, we focus on providing specific expertise and equipment required to facilitate deep learning in areas educators find most difficult to deliver. We work with university academics to ensure that the scientific grounding is at the cutting edge, providing valuable learning experiences for educators and students.

You may also choose to visit the Science Centre to see our current exhibition, spend time in our interactive zones and see a planetarium show.

Adult

We offer a range of engaging, educational workshops especially for adults, from fun team-building activities to introductions to DNA and genetics. We also offer Continued Professional Development sessions in maths and science subjects in which we adopt a child-centred, practical and creative approach to equip teachers with ideas and tools that can be implemented in the classroom immediately.
