The experience

An educational trip to Life typically includes a curriculum-linked workshop, plus time to explore the science centre. From November - February you might also have a skate on our open air ice rink. From planning to booking and on the day, our experienced team provides everything you need to ensure your visit goes without a hitch. 

On the day


We provide everything you need for an enjoyable and stress-free visit:

  • Tailored itineraries to make sure your group have enough time to see everything relevant to their learner levels and interests, including time for breaks, lunch and to browse the gift shop (if desired).
  • A space for breaks and lunch.
  • Packed lunch options.
  • Safe storage for coats and bags.
  • Fully accessible facilities including disabled toilets, induction loops and level access.
  • A member of staff to greet you on arrival and help you to get organised.


Workshops

Our workshops are tailored to different age groups, developed and delivered by fully trained science communicators, and reviewed and revised regularly. You're guaranteed the most up to date educational content, relevant to your group's learning level and interests. There are over 100 workshops for you to choose from, and if you can't find what you're looking for we're happy to develop something specially for your group.

Our expert team are on hand to answer your questions while you're planning your visit and on the day.

Our workshops are devised and delivered by trained science communication professionals, and during your Science Centre visit you'll be looked after by our friendly graduate Science Explainers.

Lunches

We provide space for you to eat your lunch, and can also offer catering options for your convenience (these must be booked in advance). We have two cafés on site serving hot and cold meals, drinks and snacks, and are located just a couple of minutes' walk from various restaurants, cafés and convenience stores.

We prepare an itinerary for your visit which you receive on the day - this includes scheduled times for breaks and lunch.

Gift Shop

Our Gift Shop stocks a wide range of fun, educational and themed gifts at a variety of prices. Time in the Gift Shop can be included in your Science Centre itinerary, if desired. We can also provide pre-booked goody bags.
